September 17, 2015 Wednesday 7th October 2015 SHU Cantor building, room 9006 LIYHB run CPD seminar days every 6 months, in collaboration with one of our three local LI accredited Universities, Sheffield Hallam University (SHU). Seminar days usually take place on the first Wednesday of the month in April, and October. The seminar days are based on the Pathway to Chartership (P2C) syllabus, although not exclusive to P2C students. In limited time, of course some syllabus topics will be covered in more depth than others, but the seminars aim to give an insight into the whole of the P2C syllabus over the course of a year. September 12, 2015 Save the Dates! LIYHB is delighted to welcome the Landscape Institute / Building Centre Exhibition, Rethinking the Urban Landscape. The public exhibition, first showcased at the Building Centre in London earlier this year, will be touring our region in Autumn 2015. Leeds 5th – 20th November: Broadcasting Place, Leeds Beckett School of Art, Architecture and Design Sheffield 23rd November – 13th December: Winter Gardens, Sheffield Rethinking the Urban Landscape argues the case to commit investment to ‘green infrastructure’ in the early stages of city and regeneration planning, and includes many of the best international projects. Curated by the LI, the exhibition sets out to show that with long-term landscape planning cities can become healthier, safer and happier places to be – from reduced risk of flooding, to countering the ‘invisible killer’ of bad air quality, to weaving more enjoyable and inspiring environments throughout the urban fabric. Members Private Viewing and Networking Evenings; Leeds Thursday 12th November: Broadcasting Place, Leeds Beckett School of Art, Architecture and Design 6.30pm start, open to members of LI, RIBA, RTPI, RICS, BALI and invited guests.
